PORT HARCOURT, Rivers State – The State Advocacy Team, SAT, of the ATM Networks in Rivers State has called on the Rivers State Ministry of Education to approve sensitization programs on Gender-Based Violence, GBV, and Gender-Related Human Rights, GHR, in secondary schools across selected Local Government Areas. The team, led by the State Coordinator of the TB Network, Mr. Messiah Fyneface Muzan, paid an advocacy and familiarization visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Peter Nwagor, on behalf of the Global Fund-supported Integrated Community-Led Monitoring, CLM, Project. Purpose of the Visit Mr. Muzan said the ATM Networks, which comprise the TB, HIV and Malaria Networks, are implementing the CLM Project to promote community ownership of health facilities, accountability in service delivery, and improved access to healthcare. I know that when God peeps into my daydreams    and visions, he will just smile and say “you’re a greedy little thing, aren’t you?” 🙊 As one who has birthed a lot of things in my life through my imaginations, I have come to rely on it a lot. Especially when you did not grow up as privileged as others, you weren’t born into a system where you simply get things without needing them, you need something and they’re provided or you simply ask and it is given. For some of us who didn’t grow with this privilege, I have used my imaginations to call in things that nearly seemed impossible to reach from where I stand in life. I simply did because I could see beyond where I was standing, and could feel and taste these things, even when they seemed impossible. In my years of being asleep, I just imagine and end there. Let’s look at Nigeria under military rule. What if you woke up one morning, turned on the radio, and discovered that your country's government had been overthrown overnight? Well... if you lived in Nigeria between 1966 and 1999, that wasn't unusual. For much of those 33 years, the country was ruled not by elected leaders, but by military officers. So, how did Nigeria get there? After gaining independence from Britain in 1960, hopes were high. But political tensions, allegations of corruption, and regional rivalry created instability. Then, on January 15, 1966, a group of young army officers carried out Nigeria's first military coup. Prime Minister Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was killed, along with several top political leaders. Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi became Nigeria's first military Head of State. Most times, my notes are messages from my higher self to me. These are messages that are downloaded from my soul/ the universe/ God to direct me, that I choose to share. Just like everybody else on earth, I have flaws, fears and issues that I strive daily to overcome. Of recent, I found myself reliving parts of me that I thought I had left behind. Things that I thought I had outgrown. Inner child wounds and traumas that I thought I had handled. In my journey of self-awareness, I have realized that I only go back to things I had handled in the past, when there are new aspects to heal, to continue healing or to complete healing. This is another reminder that Growth and Healing are not a Linear Processes. The fact that you are progressively improving doesn’t mean you will be “up-there” all the time. I...
