Some Afo are also Indigenous to Agatu LGA in Benue state, but most of them there identify ethnically as Agatu. They speak a Plateau (Benue-Congo) language which has been heavily influenced by neighbouring Idomoid (Volta-Niger) languages like Alago and Agatu.
