A JOURNEY WITH LESSONS (story time) - Elvira Jordan

A JOURNEY WITH LESSONS (story time) - Elvira Jordan

Good Morning Beloved πŸ’›

Today I want to share a story with us. Whatever lesson you pick from it, do well to share your thoughts with me.

So I recently traveled from Benin to Port Harcourt and it was quite an eventful and funny journey. Hopefully I will get into the details of the journey later but some things others would have seen as normal happened to me, that gave me a new insight on life.

For sometime now my phone has been giving all kinds of indication that it needs to be replaced. So many other expenses have been putting off my efforts to get a new one.

On my journey to PH, our bus made its routine stop at a popular eatery in Ughelli where passengers can get some food, use the restroom, stretch a bit and get back to their journey.

I didn’t have breakfast that morning so I got some food and went to sit close to a socket so I could charge my phone that was already off due to low battery. I excused an elderly man who was sitting on the outside, so I could pass to the end to use the socket. Unfortunately for me, the socket wasn’t working so there I was just sitting there, without the guts to ask the elder to let me pass again.

Then a beautiful young girl in her early 20s came and sat directly opposite me and I couldn’t help but notice her phone. It was the kind of phone I wanted; iPhone 14 pro. The only difference was that hers was white and I want the gold.

I jealously watched her pressing her phone, taking selfies and smiling. Then I looked at my phone and suddenly, all that was wrong with the phone began to beep in my eyes.

I got silently angry😑

Not envy.

Not at the girl.

I was angry at my phone and in my mind I was like “see what other people’s phones are doing. Very stupid and nonsense phone.” πŸ™„

I went over and over about how much the phone has stressed me in the past couple of days and I was just mad. I however opened my plate of rice and once I inhaled the aroma of the rice and chicken, I was able to distract myself a bit from my phone because the girl didn’t even buy food. (I am petty like that πŸ˜‚)

A few minutes later, our driver beaconed on his passengers to show that it was time to leave. I got up and headed to our bus. After the driver had rearranged all our many luggages, I sat down to munch on my plate of rice and voilΓ !!! I couldn’t find my phone.

Everywhere first blur!!! πŸ˜‚

I checked my pockets, checked my bag, checked the nylon I had my food… nothing.

I almost ran mad. The bus was about to move!!!

I had to alert the driver!

“Driver wait oo!! I can’t find my phone.”

Because of all the issues we had encountered on our journey and how much of a positive energy I used to calm other passengers down, every one was concerned… “where did you last see it? Where did you keep it.”

I then remembered the last time I saw it was when I was comparing it with the girl’s iPhone 14.

My adrenaline kicked in immediately. I flew all the way from the second to the last row, over all the luggages to head back into the eatery to find my phone. Fortunately for me, the elder was still there. Immediately I ran to him all sweaty, before I could even speak, he said “oh! was it your phone?” Chai! I knew there was hope. I nodded my head as if my life depended on it.

My phone fell off my pocket when I stood up to leave. The elder had picked up the phone and had given it to the eatery staff who had already given it to their supervisor. Because the phone was off, the supervisor was trying to charge it when I got to her.

When she saw the way I was panting, she said to me “calm down oo! Na phone oo, no be your life loss.”

I responded to her in my head “right now, this phone is my business, my job, my friend, my leisure, my life…”.

Then I immediately remembered how I had hated the phone a few minutes ago because I saw a better one.

It only took me a few minutes to remember that “You don’t know what you have till it’s gone”.

When the phone got back into my hands, I kissed it. Hugged it and apologized for insulting it and comparing it to another phone earlier.

As you go about your day today, I hope you can find a message from my short story.

Meanwhile, I am now back to PH fully! Let all deals and invites start rolling in.

DREAMS AND VISIONS ARE FREE - Elvira Jordan

DREAMS AND VISIONS ARE FREE - Elvira Jordan Good Morning Beloved 😊 A few days ago, I stumbled on a video where Apostle Femi Lazarus spoke about “Seeing” and it inspired my message today. Even as a child, I have always lived in a fantasy world and sometimes I feel like I take the fantasy thing too far because at some point, everything around me could be on fire and I will just create an alternate reality in my head where I am dancing in the snows. Everyone else could be worried or fearful about a dire situation and I will just picture  the best possible outcome of that situation and allow myself to remain there, while others bugger their minds off on how serious the matter is. Some people have always seen my view as “Toxic Positivity” and that has never been a problem to me. There are times when I would agree that I took the dreaming thing too far, but more often than not, it was the ideal thing for me because while others are worked up over the situation and worried sick about a p...

TIME IS NOT IN A HURRY - Elvira Jordan

TIME IS NOT IN A HURRY - Elvira Jordan Good Morning Beloved! Have you ever been late for work or an event and you’re trying to meet up by doing everything in a hurry? You will see that as you’re trying to comb your hair in a hurry, the brush will fall off a couple of times for you to pick it up and continue. You may wear your jacket the wrong way and be forced to take it off and wear it again. All this will make you late the more. We must have experienced this one way or the other. Yesterday, I realized that we have just 4 months till the end of the year and I just shrugged it off because even though the year ran fast, “What Will Be Will Be”.  This realization may be triggering for some people, especially those who have grandeur plans for the year, lists of achievements, things they want to accomplish in 2025 and things like that. If you haven’t done what you think you need to do, the rush of the year may actually mess with your mind, making you feel like you’re being left behind....
