NO PERFECTION IN THIS WORLD - Elvira Jordan
Good Morning Beloved! 💛✨
This is a rarely talked about topic… something I am also guilty of, even though I know better. I am going to be a little edgy today but bear with me.
As humans, we will all agree that we are not perfect. Even those who feel they are “close” to perfect are only viewing themselves from their own point of view. I believe their friends and families are waiting for the right opportunity to speak their minds, and tell them about their lapses.
However, some of us tend to be so judgmental of others and quick to point out other people’s weaknesses. We are quick to raise our noses at other people’s faults, the things they do that do not sit right with us, and even publicize it to the world for personal validation or to paint ourselves to be saints… that we can never be.
As much as it is good for us to address bad behavior, we should also remember that no one wishes to be wrong, evil, badly behaved or wrongly raised.
In this life that we all find ourselves, it could have been easy for you in some areas, but not so easy for others in those areas and vice versa. People live their lives based on their realities, and they choose from the options that are available.
Nobody is living their lives with the intentions of ruining it, or ruining that of others. The villain you encounter on the road, that badly behaved man/ woman; that poorly dressed child is not that way because they want to be. They are that way because that is the circumstances they find themselves at the moment.
Funny thing is that their circumstances could change at any time. And life may even reward them despite their flaws, and give you, the perfectionist a front row seat.
Some people have the privilege of picking up certain qualities in life, while others do not. Some have to go through fire, thunder and storms to get that thing that came so easily to you.
Life is not the same for us all. No one came to earth with a manual. What you may have learnt at age 7, someone else could be learning in their 40s.
So when you are tempted to raise your nose at the inefficiencies of others; when you want to use a microphone to announce the imperfections of others to the world, to ridicule them or in our hypocritical way of saying “we want to warn others of them”, I want you to remember these things:
1. One or two short comings do not define a person
2. Most people know their weaknesses and are taking one step at a time to change it.
3. If people had a better choice, they would choose better
4. Most people grew up in pain, and that pain reflects in their lives one way or the other
5. Even you who think you are perfect, if we should browse through your life with a fine tooth comb, we will definitely pick out some dirt.
6. The same way you make excuses for your flaws, also learn that other people are entitled to their own flaws too and should be tolerated to some extent.
7. Let’s approach others with love and the understanding that life is not linear
8. Let us not be quick to punish people for their mistakes, unless it seems a repeated pattern. Even so, let’s apply causation, love and understanding.
9. One person may be bad in one area, but good in other areas. If you focus on the negatives, you may miss out on the positives.
10. As we try to fix other people, let us also look through our lives and identify the areas that need fixing, and also work on them.
In all of this, my message today is for us to cut each other some slack.
BIBLE VERSE: 2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
PRAYER: Dear Lord, I acknowledge my weaknesses and imperfections. By Your power, may they be replaced with Stregth, Wisdom and Virtue. Amen
Do have a Blessed Monday and a Successful Week ahead.

DeleteWhat is the scale for measuring perfection? God made man perfect, but man has sought his own inventions. There lies the missing link that has placed a heavy burden on society. Thank you for the piece.
ReplyDeleteAlthough God created man to be perfect, the world itself is imperfect so it will be hard for man to be perfect, but we strive towards perfection by his grace. Thank you 💛
