Stephanie BlackPearl Launches ‘SURRENDER’, A Call to Trust God When Life Doesn’t Make Sense

PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria —

Nigerian broadcaster, storyteller and author Stephanie BlackPearl has launched her debut book, SURRENDER, a deeply personal reflection on faith, waiting, disappointment and the courage to God when life does not go according to plan.

Launching the book on Wednesday, August 12, holds a special meaning for the author as it coincides with her birthday, making the release not only the beginning of her journey as an author but also a personal milestone as she enters a new chapter of her life.

Written from personal experiences, SURRENDER examines the often quiet and difficult process of letting go of the desire to control outcomes and learning to trust God, even when the path ahead remains unclear.

At the centre of the book is a question that speaks to anyone who has experienced prolonged waiting or unanswered prayers: What if the breakthrough you have been praying for begins with letting go?

For BlackPearl, the book was born out of seasons marked by waiting, disappointment, unexpected detours and uncertainty. Those experiences, she said, gradually taught her that faith is not always about having answers or understanding why things happen.

Sometimes, she believes, faith means choosing to trust God despite not being able to see the outcome.

At its heart, SURRENDER presents yielding not as weakness, defeat or passivity, but as an act of faith and a conscious decision to place one's life in God's hands.

The book explores the tension between the human desire to control circumstances and the spiritual discipline of releasing that control. It presents faith as an honest journey — one that can involve questions, grief, uncertainty, waiting and even wrestling with difficult circumstances, while ultimately choosing to trust God.

The message is particularly directed at people navigating what BlackPearl describes as the “in-between seasons” of life. These are seasons when people may be waiting for direction, restoration, a breakthrough, an answered prayer or clarity about what comes next. Through the book, she encourages readers to see these periods differently and to consider that silence does not necessarily mean inactivity.

According to BlackPearl, God may be working through the quiet moments, ordinary experiences and circumstances that may not immediately make sense.

“The journey begins the moment surrender does,” she says.

The launch will also be accompanied by a live radio interview, during which BlackPearl will speak about the experiences that inspired the book, her journey into writing and the message she hopes readers will take away from SURRENDER.

For the author, however, the release represents more than the publication of a book.

Launching SURRENDER on her birthday marks the beginning of a new chapter in her life — one she says she is choosing to enter with open hands.

BlackPearl brings nearly a decade of experience in broadcasting and media to her debut as an author. As a broadcaster and storyteller, she has spent years engaging audiences through stories, conversations and ideas aimed at inspiring reflection, growth and more intentional living.

With SURRENDER, she turns inward, offering readers a personal account of her reflections on faith, waiting, trust and the courage to let go.

The eBook is currently available for purchase through Selar, while the hardcover edition is available for pre-order and is expected to be released the following week. Kindle and paperback editions are also expected to be released through Amazon KDP.

For readers navigating uncertainty, waiting for answers or struggling with the desire to control what comes next, SURRENDER offers an invitation to pause, release control and consider what it means to trust God fully.

Rather than promising easy answers, the book encourages readers to embrace faith even in seasons where the answers remain hidden — and to discover that surrender itself may be the beginning of a new journey.

TIME IS NOT IN A HURRY - Elvira Jordan

TIME IS NOT IN A HURRY - Elvira Jordan Good Morning Beloved! Have you ever been late for work or an event and you’re trying to meet up by doing everything in a hurry? You will see that as you’re trying to comb your hair in a hurry, the brush will fall off a couple of times for you to pick it up and continue. You may wear your jacket the wrong way and be forced to take it off and wear it again. All this will make you late the more. We must have experienced this one way or the other. Yesterday, I realized that we have just 4 months till the end of the year and I just shrugged it off because even though the year ran fast, “What Will Be Will Be”.  This realization may be triggering for some people, especially those who have grandeur plans for the year, lists of achievements, things they want to accomplish in 2025 and things like that. If you haven’t done what you think you need to do, the rush of the year may actually mess with your mind, making you feel like you’re being left behind....

“Halt all divestment process till IOCs remediate and repair the Niger Delta region”- stakeholders urge National Assembly

In the face of the divestment of the International oil companies (IOCs), as they sell off their on-shore oil fields to local companies, moving their operations to deep waters, this has sparked concerns about the future of host communities and the environment.  Civil society organizations, environmental activists, academia and other stakeholders have raised the question of who will take the reins and ensure accountability for maintaining the oil wells and facilities, loss of livelihoods suffered by host communities, and the remediation of damaged lands and waters.  These concerns shaped the conversations at the Community Town Hall Meeting on Oil Divestment and Transition Accountability in the Niger Delta which held on the 25th of March 2026 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The meeting which was organized by the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA Resource Center) with the theme, Strengthening Transparency, Environmental Responsibility and Community...
