EMBRACING THE NEW - Elvira Jordan

EMBRACING THE NEW - Elvira Jordan

(Revised)

Good Morning Beloved!!!

Just like every one else, I pray to God for a change; for something new to come into my life. However, when I begin to see glimpses of the new, it scares me. I am certain this is not an uncommon feeling.

There are times when we didn’t even pray for something new, but because nature sees a need for a change, it just happens. Sometimes, because we didn’t anticipate the changes or didn’t ask for it, we subconsciously reject it.

No matter how badly we need something or how much we have prayed for that thing we want, if our subconscious mind rejects it either due to fear, anxiety or lack of trust (for the unfamiliar) no matter how badly we need this thing, it will never come to us.

For instance, a young man is writing an exam to gain admission into a UK university. He wants this admission by all means. But while taking his exams, he looks at the questions and decides that the exam was too tough for him to pass (first subconscious rejection) and then he continues to ponder about the fact that he has no relatives in the UK and so, surviving in the UK alone will be impossible (second subconscious rejection).

Automatically, the subconscious mind has rejected the idea of getting a higher education abroad, so no matter how well he wrote the exams, or if there was a stranger somewhere who would have offered assistance in the future, because he didn’t see the possibility and has rejected it mentally, he has rejected his admission into a UK university.

On the other hand, we sometimes resist the new because they are unfamiliar grounds. We make statements like “this is not how it is usually done” or “let me stick to the one I know”.

Sometimes what you know is not the right way, and the way you are used to is not the only way. Be flexible in your beliefs and ideologies of life.

Be accommodating to new ideas, new territories, new vision and new people.

No true Change can enter into your Life without introducing something NEW!

Sometimes the things you are praying for will come in ways that are unfamiliar to you, going beyond the usual, escaping the usual protocols.

Let’s break free from our mundane ways of thinking.

Let’s stop holding onto outdated timelines and lifestyles.

The world is magical. The Universe is full of mysteries. God works in ways we cannot understand.

As you go about today, carry an open mind and a free spirit. One that is wise enough to sense subtle changes, one deliberate enough to act on the new, and one wise enough to know what is good and what is acceptable.

Adopt a Growth Mindset. Make a list of the changes around you (mentally and journaling). Set clear goals for your self.

Be grateful for what you have and what is to come.

Be confident.

Listen to your inner voice that seeks your overall good.

Open yourself up to the New and Embrace Change. There is no growth or advancement without the introduction of something New and  Unfamiliar.

Bible Verse: Isaiah 43:19

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Prayer

Dear Lord, by Your Power, we break down every gate of limitation, fear and delay. Strengthen our minds to see and embrace the newness of each day. We declare that this week will bring New Victories pouring into our lives. Amen πŸ™πŸ½

Do have a Blessed Monday and a Successful Week ahead.

TIME IS NOT IN A HURRY - Elvira Jordan

TIME IS NOT IN A HURRY - Elvira Jordan Good Morning Beloved! Have you ever been late for work or an event and you’re trying to meet up by doing everything in a hurry? You will see that as you’re trying to comb your hair in a hurry, the brush will fall off a couple of times for you to pick it up and continue. You may wear your jacket the wrong way and be forced to take it off and wear it again. All this will make you late the more. We must have experienced this one way or the other. Yesterday, I realized that we have just 4 months till the end of the year and I just shrugged it off because even though the year ran fast, “What Will Be Will Be”.  This realization may be triggering for some people, especially those who have grandeur plans for the year, lists of achievements, things they want to accomplish in 2025 and things like that. If you haven’t done what you think you need to do, the rush of the year may actually mess with your mind, making you feel like you’re being left behind....

“Halt all divestment process till IOCs remediate and repair the Niger Delta region”- stakeholders urge National Assembly

In the face of the divestment of the International oil companies (IOCs), as they sell off their on-shore oil fields to local companies, moving their operations to deep waters, this has sparked concerns about the future of host communities and the environment.  Civil society organizations, environmental activists, academia and other stakeholders have raised the question of who will take the reins and ensure accountability for maintaining the oil wells and facilities, loss of livelihoods suffered by host communities, and the remediation of damaged lands and waters.  These concerns shaped the conversations at the Community Town Hall Meeting on Oil Divestment and Transition Accountability in the Niger Delta which held on the 25th of March 2026 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The meeting which was organized by the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA Resource Center) with the theme, Strengthening Transparency, Environmental Responsibility and Community...
