ON THE ROAD - Elvira Jordan
Good Morning Beloved! π
Today, let us paint a mental image together…
Have you ever been on a road trip for 1-2-5-10 hours? Let’s look at some of things about a road trip.
For you to take a trip, you need to have a DESTINATION. Except you are one who just travels for fun (which still needs a plan), if you don’t plan your trip properly and be sure of your destination, what kind of confused journey will that be?
Going for a road trip, if you have your own MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION like your own car, you will have to travel on your own terms. You pick the time, the speed at which you will travel and whether or not if you want others along with you. Even if you decide to carry others along, you still decide on the major factors of that trip because IT IS YOUR CAR.
But when you don’t have a car of your own, you may have to hire one or commute with others through a public transport. The other passengers of this car could be people you know or total strangers.
You may need to spend hours with strangers you meet for the first time and may never see again. You meet different people with their own destination , their own stories, their own problems and their own issues. For some reason, you all found yourself in a bus, going to a similar destination.
You may meet new friends, business partner and maybe even a life partner if the universe places you both on an SIMILAR DESTINATION.
Now, whether you have your own means of transportation or you are using a public means, you know you need money for your fare, for fuel, to hire a car, a driver etc… but you need funds to embark on a trip. You need the RIGHT RESOURCES to make your trip successful. Do you get it ready before hand or you start scurrying about on the morning of your trip, looking for the resources? Either way, you can guess the outcomes.
Imagine you meet a stranger on your way and you get so caught up in each other conversations, so much that you either forget where you’re going, you miss your stop or simply abandon your own destination to follow your new found friend… it happens ooo. It really does.
The down part of this is that you will end up missing your way, in a ditch with your vital organs caught out, or find yourself in a slave ship going to Serbia π·πΈ.
While traveling on the road, you will get to different bus tops, parks and stations where they let some people out, pick up some new people or do both. If you are not familiar with your destination, you may end up in a wrong bustop or … You may also get lost or spend extra money trying to reroute.
How about those people who hawk different things on the road? You will see snacks, clothings, household items, food, drinks etc. If you are not DISCIPLINED, you may end up using all your money to buy snail, kpomo, bread and any other thing that catches your attention on the road.
And then when you actually need your money to commute, or for the actual purpose of your trip, you will only have the sour taste of the Kpomo you bought on the road, or that face cap you bought that you may not really need, but will shade your face from the sun when you begin to trek to your destination.
The worse thing about a road trip is when you encounter a Police or Military post on the road. You will just have to pray that your vehicle or any passenger in your vehicle is not found wanting. You may spend hours trying to fix a problem that you didn’t even cause, or just be a victim of an angry law enforcement officer. These things happen without you planning for it on your trip.
On the road, there are so many things that are capable of hindering your journey with or without the intentions to. It all depends on how you factor these things in your journey and the priority you give them.
There are several enticing distractions, unnecessary interaction, stumbling blocks that can make your journey interesting, pitiable, successful or just a waste of time and resources.
Despite all things said, if you commit your journey to God, do what you ought to do and carry a positive spirit for your journey, you will just see how everything falls into place. A smooth and seamless journey, that even the bumps on the road will feel like a joy ride.
π
Today, I want you to reflect on any important aspect of your life and relate it to a Road Trip. I bet things will look as clear as they look to me this morning.
BIBLE VERSE: Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
PRAYER: Dear Lord, today we call on You to take the wheel, lead our journey and guide us into our place of Abundance, Success and Victory.
Do have a Blessed Monday and a Successful Week ahead.
