CSOs AND PARTNERS MEET FOR MUTUAL CAPACITY STRENGTHENING


Regular capacity strengthening for Civil Society Organizations is the key to ensuring growth and optimum performance in the civil society space, equipping the relevant bodies with the tools required to facilitate development in the society.

This was established at the Organizational Capacity Strengthening Project for Partners in Rivers State, organized by Ofure Center for Peace and Development and Ududu Development and Peace Initiative, with support from OXFAM Nigeria and CISLAC.

The program took on a coaching and peer learning training system which was anchored by experienced development partners in the civil society space, touching critical areas such as organizational strategic planning, Monitoring, Evaluation & learning, and Resource Mobilization.

In her presentation on Project Sustainability and Collaboration, Dr. Goodness Ene-Bongilli spoke on project sustainability to maintain outcomes and measure impacts beyond initial funding phases of projects, by focusing on evaluating environmental impact, resource mobilization, community engagement and economic viability



While presenting the Project Overview on Capacity Strengthening, Director of Ududu Development and Peace Initiative, Ngozi Anyawu stated that the review meeting was organized to evaluate what has been done, how well it was done and elaborate on possible areas of ensuring improved and sustained knowledge sharing.



Director of Planning, Research and Statistics of the Rivers State Ministry of Women Affairs Georgewill Otto who spoke during a panel session, stated that the knowledge delivered at the meeting, with particulars on budgeting will be an added knowledge to government parastatals and MDAs who have adopted the “copy and paste” pattern.



On his part, Executive Director of Ofure Center for Peace and Development, Ambassador Sylvester Okoduwa spoke on the importance of a strategic goal, vision, objective and core values of organizations as a key guide for the operations of an organization, even beyond projects.

He added that the objective of the project is to strengthen the capacities of emerging and developing partners as a means of expanding and sustaining the civic space

DRUG ABUSE TOPS DISCUSSIONS AS KEY CONFLICT ISSUE IN RIVERS STATE, AT THE MEETING OF STATE PEACE ARCHITECTURE (Photos)

Drug related conflicts were top on the list of key conflict issues at a meeting of the Rivers State Peace Architecture (SPA) and the Steering Committee of the European Union funded project, “A Community Centered Approach To Transforming Violence and Criminality in the Niger Delta (CRIN-VIN)”. OVER 10,000 PEOPLE BENEFITS FROM EU PEACE BUILDING PROJECT IN BAYELSA, DELTA AND RIVERS STATE

The Project Steering Committee of the European Union funded project, “A Community Centered Approach to transforming violence and Criminality in the Niger Delta (CRIN-VIN)” says over ten thousand (10,000) people have benefited from the project across the Niger Delta, 9 months into the project. The peace building project which kicked off in November 2023 is being implemented by Search for Common Ground and its partners, in 60 communities across 33 local government areas in Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers State, aimed at fostering inclusive community security approaches to addressing the systemic drivers of violence and criminality in the Niger Delta.
