Our Climate Our Future “Solarizing health care in Nigeria” Set to Transform Nigerian Communities


LILBECKKING DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION “LIBEDEF” hosted a pivotal stakeholder meeting that has paved the way for a transformative solar energy and restoration of climate project in Nigeria.

The gathering brought together an impressive array of participants, including the Director of Climate Change, representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Sustainability, traditional rulers ( Enogies) from various communities, CSO’s, NGO’s, health care providers and community people. 

At the meeting, heads of local healthcare centers spoke passionately about the challenges they face due to unreliable electricity supply, emphasizing how this solar initiative can revolutionize service delivery. 

Project Lead of LIBEDEF, Destiny Aigbokhae, while speaking at the meeting, commended the level of engagement and collaboration of environmental enthusiasts and stakeholders towards promoting clean energy. 
"It's clear that there is a shared understanding of the critical role clean energy and environmental restoration will play in the future of our country."



"Consistent power will allow us to provide quality care and save lives," remarked by Mrs Helen center director.

Beyond healthcare, the stakeholders also recognized the potential for integrating solar power into Nigeria's agricultural systems, further boosting productivity and food security.

But the initiative doesn't stop there. In a move to address the pressing issue of climate change, the Enogie of the Oghede community has pledged to spearhead a large-scale tree planting campaign, set to commence on January 18th 2025.

Talking on the event the director of climate change Edo state Hon Kenneth spoke passionately about loss and damage and how we can join hands to save our future also thank LILBECKKING DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION “LIBEDEF” for the project they are doing without greed!!!.

"This will be a welcome ceremony for our solar project and restoration of our climate to protect our environment where the entire community will come together to plant trees and celebrate a brighter, more sustainable future," Mr Omobude  explained, The leader of  Edo state civil society Organization “EDOSCO”



Comrade Cynthia the Executive Director of GWEDO spoke about the importance of shifting from fossil fuel to renewable energy and how all NGOs can help collaborate with LILBECKKING DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION to make the youth see reasons for a better future.

With the backing of diverse stakeholders, this holistic approach to renewable energy (solar energy) and environmental restoration is poised to create transformative change across Nigerian communities.

"We are not just installing solar panels and power - we are empowering people, improving lives, and safeguarding our planet," Beckley  Irumudomon(Executive Director) LIBEDEF concluded. "This is the kind of impactful, systemic change that Nigeria needs."

DRUG ABUSE TOPS DISCUSSIONS AS KEY CONFLICT ISSUE IN RIVERS STATE, AT THE MEETING OF STATE PEACE ARCHITECTURE (Photos)

Drug related conflicts were top on the list of key conflict issues at a meeting of the Rivers State Peace Architecture (SPA) and the Steering Committee of the European Union funded project, “A Community Centered Approach To Transforming Violence and Criminality in the Niger Delta (CRIN-VIN)”. EU-ACT PROGRAMME IN RIVERS STATE CLOSES IN GRAND STYLE (Photos)

Civil Society Organizations under the    European Union Agent for Citizen-Driven Transformation (EU-ACT) project have been charged to mentor other CSOs towards achieving sustainable development and credibility in their work.
